Clint van der Linde started his singing career at the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir School. As a treble soloist he performed with many of the major orchestras in South Africa, before going on to study at the Royal College of Music. Concentrating mainly on early music and contemporary music, the countertenor has worked with many leading ensembles and conductors, such as Frieder Bernius, Stephen Cleobury, Paul Dombrecht, Robert King, Nicholas Kraemer, Sir Roger Norrington and Claudio Osele.
Van der Linde’s opera experience includes several title roles in Handel operas. He made his Amsterdam Concertgebouw debut in Handel’s Agrippina with The Combattimento Consort Amsterdam, a production which was released on DVD. He has also recorded the title role of Francesco Conti’s David with the Lautten Compagney. Recent activities have included the title role in Handel’s Rinaldo with the Bach Collegium Japan under Masaki Suzuki at the Edinburgh Festival and the title roles in Tolomeo and Flavio with the English Touring Opera.
