Händel-Gesellschaft

The Göttinger Händel-Gesellschaft e.V. is committed to supporting the Göttingen International Handel Festival and cultivating the oeuvre of George Frideric Handel.

Through their membership, the approximately 1300 people who belong to the society are also supporting the publication of scholarly works and, in particular, fostering musical talent among the next generation.

This support is exemplified by the annual ‘Göttinger Reihe Historischer Musik’ competition for up-and-coming ensembles, a concert series held by the Göttinger Händel-Gesellschaft in cooperation with the Mercedes-Benz Center Göttingen and Sartorius AG. The series consists of four concerts given by young early-music ensembles, each of them keen to win the prize of an appearance at the subsequent Göttingen Handel Festival.

As a member of the society, you will receive the programme booklet containing information on the next Festival before public ticket sales begin, and you can submit your ticket requests for priority handling. You can also purchase the exclusive Handel Festival CD productions.

By becoming a member of the Göttingen Händel-Gesellschaft e.V. you are helping to maintain the high quality and diversity of the Göttingen International Handel Festival. Membership subscriptions start at EUR 35 per year.
