Rolling George

With Rolling George, our mobile festival stage, we are sending Handel out on the road. Travelling sustainably in a large blue electric truck, we carry the Festival beyond the city and into the surrounding region. Joining us this year is the Porter Percussion Duo: sisters Jessica and Vanessa, who have performed together since 2009 and captivate audiences with drums, mallet instruments, and everything that can create sound. Their wide stylistic range includes Arrangements of music from past centuries for their extensive instrumentarium, extending all the way to the present. Baroque, Romantic, or Impressionist music suddenly takes on a fresh yet familiar colour, drawing a direct line to contemporary original works for percussion.
