This concert aims to explore the “core of ardor” – the state of yearning. Named after the piece “Closer to Paradise” by Daniel Koschitzki, one of the ensemble's recorder players, countertenor Valer Sabadus and the “classical band” Spark explore musical utopias. The program not only takes us through music history, from Antonio Vivaldi to Rammstein, but also encompasses a wide variety of mental states. From the paradisiacal birdsong of Handel's Rinaldo to the subliminally pulsating tango sounds of Ljova Zhurbin and the driven quest to find home in Schumann's “In der Fremde” to the pitch blackness of Depeche Mode. The shining star on this voyage between extremes is the voice of Valer Sabadus, which in its enraptured lightness seems to hail from another world.

Werke von Vivaldi, Händel, Schumann, Satie und Weill bis zu Leo Ferré, Depeche Mode und Rammstein
