Agrippina (HWV 6)

Since 2009, the Göttingen International Handel Festival has been recording its festival operas and presenting them as “Public Viewing”  during the respective festival period.
Nero has to become emperor and his mother Agrippina, Rome's most famous schemer, is doing everything to achieve this. Both Handel's music and Laurence Dale's production are brimming with irony and give great pleasure not only to the audience but also to singers* and orchestra. Experience this award-winning production once again on the big screen and let memories come alive.

Stage director: Laurence Dale

Set and costume designer: Tom Schenk, Robby Duiveman

With Ulrike Schneider, João Fernandes, Christopher Ainslie, Jake Arditti, Ida Falk Winland, Ross Ramgobin, Owen Willetts, Ronaldo Steiner, FestspielOrchester Göttingen

Musical director: Laurence Cummings

Recorded during the Göttingen International Handel Festival 2015.
