On the first day of the Festival, the stage is set for young, promising musicians in the Adam-von-Trott-Saal. On May 19 and 20, eight ensembles will perform in front of the jury and audience.
In the anniversary year, the participating ensembles have been given a special challenge: they must design their programme around Handel’s opera Flavio, Re de’ Longobardi, or Berenice, Regina d’Egitto. The winners will be announced at the Festival’s Opening Ceremony (Marktplatz – Market Square) on Wednesday, May 20, at 4 pm.
