Stiftungskonzert 2018: Midori Seiler

The renowned violinist Midori Seiler brings a conflict on stage: according to the legend, the relationship between Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber and Georg Muffat in Salzburg was complicated. After Biber was appointed Court Kapellmeister in 1864, Muffat saw no future for himself there and tried to obtain employment elsewhere. In Salzburg his works had almost fallen victim to Biber’s ‘disfavour’. Even today, Baroque enthusiasts still fall into one of these two camps – Seiler lets both sides speak for themselves.

The venue is accessible with help. For further information on Festival venue accessibility, please see the overview.

The Stiftung Internationale Händel-Festspiele Göttingen would like to thank the 2018 Foundation Concert Patrons: Dr. Wolfgang and Regine Elias, Karl Lehrke, Renate Lehrke-Pinnow, Monika Schmidt-Dold, and Rüdiger Freiherr Grote.
