Opera in three Acts by George Frideric Handel

Faramondo was composed at the end of the 1730s when Italian opera was in a state of deep crisis. With this work, Handel proves that the genre’s power to grip audiences is unbroken. The glorious overture and a raft of inspired arias make Faramondo deeply pleasurable to listen to. The 2014 Göttingen International Handel Festival‘s production with Laurence Cummings delivered the work at its best and is now available as a CD. There is no doubt about it, Faramondo is worth it!
