For students

Ever since in 1920 an art historian of the Georg August University rediscovered George Frideric Handel's operas for the world to see, the Göttingen International Handel Festival has been a Göttingen cultural beacon. We're over a hundred years old and you're young, so what does that have to do with you?

The Festival offers an excellent opportunity to combine cultural studies theory with cultural work practice. Or human geography theory with human geography practice (audience survey 2023). Or university medicine with public health (infection control 2021). The Festival and Georg-August University have a long history together. If you are looking for an exciting topic for your research, a renowned institution for your compulsory internship, or a friendly team to work with as a student trainee: say hello to the Göttingen International Handel Festival gGmbH.

And in case you are curious not only about the work we do, but also its results: the Festival takes place in May, there are numerous free events, discounts for students and free admission for students of the Georg-August-Universität as part of the Kulturticket agreements. If you want to know what you're getting yourself into beforehand: Many events from previous seasons are available free of charge on the internet as videos on our Handel Channel. If you have any further questions, please contact kulturticket@haendel-festspiele.de.
