Efrat Alony, die aus Haifa stammt und in Berlin lebt, ist eine der wichtigsten Sängerinnen des europäischen Jazz. Mit kleinem Ensemble improvisiert und variiert sie barocke Texturen und zeigt auf geradezu traumwandlerische Weise die enge Verwandtschaft zur Jazzmusik. Here she takes English arias from Handel’s oratorios, cantatas and operas and breathes new life into them with her simple yet dark and powerful jazz voice. Efrat Alony, who is originally from Haifa and lives in Berlin, is one of the most prominent female singers in the European jazz scene. With a small ensemble, she improvises and varies baroque textures and demonstrates the close relationship to jazz music in an almost dreamlike way.
