Drew Santini
Drew Santini is a Canadian baritone known for his versatile performances in opera, oratorio and chamber music. Celebrated for his expressive and stylistically informed interpretations of Baroque and Classical music, he performs with leading ensembles including Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, Gli Angeli Genève, The English Concert, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, Pacific Baroque Orchestra, the Orchestra of the 18th Century, Ensemble Masques and the Netherlands Bach Society.
Recent engagements include his debut as Guglielmo in a semi-staged tour of Così fan tutte with the Orchestra of the 18th Century under Manoj Kamps; Haydn’s Die Schöpfung with the Brussels Philharmonic under Bart Van Reyn; Bach’s Matthäus-Passion with the Netherlands Bach Society under Johanna Soller and with the Dunedin Consort under Kristian Bezuidenhout; and Händel’s Messiah with Philharmonie Zuidnederland and the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra under Peter Dijkstra. He appears regularly with the Luthers Bach Ensemble, including staged versions of both Bach passions and concerts with guest conductors such as Ton Koopman and Peter Dijkstra.
A founding member of the Damask Vocal Quartet, Drew appears on their award-winning album O schöne Nacht. He has recorded widely in North America and Europe and holds degrees from The Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music. He lives in The Hague.
