Prizewinners’ Concert “Music and Space”

We experience music with all our senses. The memories we take away from a concert are shaped to a great extent by the space in which it takes place. Since 2022, the Special prize “Music and Space” has been awarded as part of the
göttingen händel competition. The winning ensemble designs a Prizewinners’ Concert that incorporates the distinctive features of the performance venue into its program.

The interior of St. Peter’s Church in Landolfshausen – a neoclassical building from the late 18th century – is reminiscent of a small theater and invites spatial-acoustic experimentation this year.
